On stage, she has performed everything from classical roles like Antigone (The Trojan Women) and Hero (Much Ado About Nothing) to devised ensemble pieces. Her work often blends text, ensemble creation, and heightened physicality to explore what lives in the body beneath the words.

She has served as a movement coach, performer, and director in both traditional and devised settings, and is passionate about creating bold, body-forward work that invites collaboration and audience engagement. Off stage, she’s previously worked as a theater critic for NJ Urban News and B Sharp Productions, submitting monthly reviews of productions in New York, Philadelphia, and Delaware.

Lindsey Rae Root is currently developing a series of workshops and original works grounded in physical theatre, with a focus on ensemble creation, mask, and character play.
